Phil has been with Port-P for more than six years, initially joining as a new business representative. Because of his IT background Phil soon found himself assisting with large technical projects en route to becoming head of pre-sales. He is also responsible for maintaining key vendor accreditations including VMware, Hewlett Packard and Tintri.
Phil has been involved in IT since leaving school over twenty years ago and has held many varied roles within the sector. However, it is at Port-P where he has really felt at home, drawing on his experience and knowledge to help customers build better IT and business systems in close collaboration with colleagues and the many different vendors that Port-P works with. Phil has been instrumental in key account wins, and is particularly proud of having been involved on major data centre projects with one of the PC gaming industry's best-known names.
Outside of work Phil is a sports fan and follows football, cricket, golf and snooker, to name but a few. In his spare time – not that it amounts to much with a young family! – Phil enjoys nothing more than blowing up stuff in PC space game Elite Dangerous (Yes, for others of the same generation, this is the re-imagining of the classic Eighties BBC Micro original). Phil is also an enthusiastic cook although his love of spices is not always met with the same enthusiasm by his loved ones!
