March 22, 2011
HP has announced that the energy reduction goals made by them in 2009 have either been met or exceeded over 9 months earlier than expected.
HP has also done some energy savings research and analysis which has shown that if all makes a models of printers, notebooks and desktop PCS, displays and servers shipped in 2005 were recycled and replaced with HP’s new energy efficient optimized models. Then customers could save a fortune on energy costs and CO2 emissions in a year.
Engeling Jaspers who is the vice president of Environmental Sustainability at HP said “We set a goal to reduce energy consumption of our products by 40 percent by the end of 2011 from 2005 levels.
