Customer engagement

The relationship between Port-P and this Building Society has gone from strength to strength over the years. Port-P originally advised  on their server and storage implementations and this was their first request for Port-P to review their desktop estate.

The Port-P account manager immediately began to work closely with the customer to understand their exact requirements in order to communicate that to the vendor. In order to provide the customer peace of mind Port-P sourced the roadmap details for the machines. As this was a new manufacturer Port-P felt it was vital that the customer trialled demonstration units of various models, and form factors were also provided.

Port-P is a HP Gold Partner which allowed the account manager to introduce HP to the customer. Guided by Port-P’s pre sales technical team all technical queries were placated. The account manager utilised the relationship they had with vendors to instigate bid pricing and negotiated with both HP and liyama to provide maximum return on investment for the customer’s budget. It was further agreed that the bids would exist over a 12 month timeframe to allow the customer to complete a full rollout.

Results and Conclusion

Such is the customer’s level of satisfaction with the end results that they continue to purchase the same HP model (Newer Version) and model of monitor 2 years on from this project.

A strong level of trust and collaboration has been established and the building society has now worked with Port-P for 7 years.  Building Society now purchases laptops and workstations from Port-P.

Port-P continues to deliver up to date roadmaps, new product demonstration units and maintain the highest level of value possible.
