Andrew joined Port-P in December 2014 as a trainee account manager and has since taken on roles as account manager, campaign manager and is now a member of the acquisition team. He completed Tintri Certified Systems Engineer and Tintri Certified Sales Professional accreditations last year and is now working towards Hewlett Packard Enterprise certifications in order to further expand his technical knowledge. As well as working closely with his existing accounts, Andrew is actively involved in attracting new business through his role in the lead management programme.
Andrew particularly enjoys meeting clients – and potential clients. He understands the importance of face-to-face visits and nothing gets in his way – not even a herd of rampant cows blocking the road into Wales. Meetings offer the opportunity for him to put a friendly face to his phone calls and to hear directly from customers about the challenges they face within their businesses and explore how Port-P can make their lives easier. As part of the acquisition team, Andrew works collaboratively and proactively, reaching out and building relationships with vendors, distributors and new customers.
Outside work, it's all about football! Andrew adheres to the philosophy of Bill Shankly: 'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.' And when he’s not practising free-kicks in his lunch break, Andrew likes nothing more than updating customers on the fortunes of his Sunday league football team. With one Cup Final on the horizon, a semi-final soon to be played and the team in a good position to win the league, there is certainly a great deal to look forward to for Andrew’s beloved Football Futures Football Club.
